Galerie Vivienne
Built in 1823, galerie Vivienne is one of the most beautiful covered passages in Paris: mosaic floors, a glass roof, a rotunda, and some fifty shops, from antiquarian bookshops to a wine merchant and tea rooms.
From one passage to the next
Right next door, galerie Colbert and its glazed rotunda are well worth a look. A little further on, passage Choiseul and then passage des Panoramas, one of the oldest in Paris, extend the walk under cover.
The most pleasant route
From the hotel, go through the Palais-Royal garden: you come out at the north end, on rue de Beaujolais, and the entrance to the galerie, on rue des Petits-Champs, is just a short walk away. Ideal when it rains.
