Business trip to Paris

On a business trip, location matters more than anything. From rue de Richelieu, the Bourse district and the offices of the 2nd arrondissement are within walking distance, and three Métro lines take you without changing to La Défense, the main railway stations and Orly airport. In the evening, you can reach the whole of central Paris on foot.

This guide brings together what matters for a business stay: journey times to the business districts, trade fair venues and stations, where to work or meet someone in the area, and how the hotel fits around your schedule.

The 2nd arrondissement on foot

The hotel sits on the edge of the 2nd arrondissement, one of the major office districts in Paris. Walking up rue de Richelieu or rue Vivienne, you reach place de la Bourse and the Palais Brongniart in about ten minutes. All around, the district is home to banks, law and consulting firms, communications agencies and start-ups, all the way to the Sentier.

For a meeting in the Opéra, Madeleine or Grands Boulevards area, walking is often quicker than the Métro: allow fifteen to twenty minutes, with no changes and no waiting. In the morning, you can leave the hotel on time, without building in extra time for transport.

Getting to the business districts

Two Métro stations are a few minutes from the hotel: Palais Royal - Musée du Louvre, two minutes away, for lines 1 and 7, and Pyramides, four minutes away, for lines 7 and 14.

Destination Line, no change Time by Métro
La Défense Line 1 from Palais Royal - Musée du Louvre About 20 min
Porte Maillot, Palais des Congrès Line 1 from Palais Royal - Musée du Louvre About 15 min
Charles de Gaulle - Étoile Line 1 from Palais Royal - Musée du Louvre About 10 min
Saint-Denis Pleyel Line 14 from Pyramides About 15 min
Bercy Line 14 from Pyramides About 6 min

These times are estimates and do not include the walk to the station or waiting time. For an important meeting, check your journey the day before on the Bonjour RATP or Île-de-France Mobilités app.

Line 14, your express line

Driverless, fast and frequent, line 14 is the most useful line for a business traveller. From Pyramides, it takes you without changing to Gare Saint-Lazare and Gare de Lyon in a few minutes, to Bercy, to Saint-Denis Pleyel, and all the way to Orly airport in around thirty minutes.

All its stations have lifts, which makes a difference when you are travelling with a cabin bag and a laptop bag. It runs late, until about 1.15am, and 2.15am on Fridays, Saturdays and the night before public holidays.

Stations and trade fairs

  • Gare Saint-Lazare and Gare de Lyon: line 14 direct from Pyramides, about 5 minutes.
  • Gare de l'Est: line 7 direct from Palais Royal - Musée du Louvre, about fifteen minutes.
  • Gare du Nord: line 14 to Châtelet, then RER B or D, just one stop.
  • Paris Expo Porte de Versailles: line 1 to Concorde, then line 12, about 35 minutes.
  • Paris Nord Villepinte: RER B from Châtelet, Parc des Expositions station, about half an hour.

For a return trip to London or Brussels, the Eurostar leaves from Gare du Nord, about a quarter of an hour from the hotel. TGV trains to Lyon, Marseille and south-east France leave from Gare de Lyon, five minutes away on line 14: easy to catch an early train without getting up at the crack of dawn.

For evening events at the Villepinte trade fairs, bear in mind the RER B engineering works, which close the line after 10.45pm on some evenings in 2026: a taxi is then a safer way back. For the airports, our guide Getting to Paris from CDG and Orly compares all the options, and our Location & access page sums up the transport around the hotel.

Working and meeting in the area

To prepare for a meeting, Wi-Fi is free at the hotel. To work for a few hours outside your room, the Bourse and Sentier area has many coworking spaces that rent a desk or a meeting room by the hour or by the day: handy for an interview or a video call in peace and quiet.

For a business coffee, choose the brasseries and grand cafés around the Bourse and avenue de l'Opéra, where you can sit for a while without feeling rushed to give up the table. Just avoid lunchtime, between 12.30pm and 2pm, when the area fills up.

To take a client out to lunch or dinner, the area has some reliable restaurants. Le Grand Colbert, on rue Vivienne, is a large Parisian brasserie, open every day until midnight: ideal when the meeting has run late. For a special occasion, Le Grand Véfour, opened in 1784, is one of the oldest fine-dining restaurants in Paris; book well in advance. More ideas, depending on the time of day and your budget, are in our guide Where to eat near the Opéra and the Palais-Royal.

Between two meetings, the Japanese quarter, a few minutes from the hotel, serves a quick and inexpensive lunch: ramen, udon or bento to take away, no booking needed.

Late arrival and early departure

A flight landing late, a night train, a meeting that runs over: reception is open 24 hours a day, and someone will welcome you whatever time you arrive.

Rooms are available from 2pm. On the day you leave, the luggage storage keeps your suitcases: you can go from one meeting to the next hands-free and come back for them before your train or flight.

  • Free Wi-Fi, to go over a file or deal with your emails before you leave.
  • Breakfast served at the hotel every morning, so you can set off straight away.
  • Safe at reception, for your documents and valuables.
  • Single Room, designed for the solo traveller.

If you need an invoice in your company's name, let us know when you book.

A free evening

In the evening, the area is best explored on foot: the arcades of rue de Rivoli, the illuminated façade of the Louvre, then avenue de l'Opéra. No need for a taxi to go out to dinner or to a show, and the walk back to the hotel takes just a few minutes.

And if your stay extends over a weekend, book directly on our website: that is where you will find our best terms.
